Breaking Reunion News….6/25/09

The hotel has 13 rooms booked from our block. They will be holding the remaining 7 rooms through this Friday (that’s tomorrow). So, if you have been putting it off, please go ahead and book your room. If you later realize that you need to cancel then you may due so up to the day before we are are supposed to arrive. Get it done and get a room.

Breaking News….6/24/09

Uncle Milton is 85 today. Happy Birthday Uncle Milty. He got a good report from the surgeon yesterday. The Doc reduced Milty’s nutrition intake through the pump and he can discontinue the tube feeding in two weeks. The tube will remain, at least through the reunion, to ensure that he can get enough nutrition by mouth. This is all great progress. We are pulling for you Uncle Milton.

The current Golf Outing pairings are as follows:

If Eisen makes the trip at the last minute, he will join the Johnson/Campbell trio.

Remember that this outing is for early risers and coffee drinkers as the first tee time is 7:56am.

The Goddard Family Icebreaker will be a game to test your knowledge of the Goddard family and your chance to learn something new about your history. The prize will be provided courtesy of the Mitchell’s

A Saturday afternoon social has been added. Come to share old photos, talk genealogy and swap stories. Cookies, drinks and a good time by all will be had in the hotel meeting room. A time has yet to be determined so check back here for an update or wing-it the day of.

If you have any old family photos please scan or have them scanned (Wallgreens, walmart and other like stores offer this service) and send then to me, bryanlfuller@gmail.com so I can get them up here for all to see. If you will not be able to attend then please send me a photo and a little bit about what you are doing these days. Everyone will love to see them at the reunion.

Finally, if you are attending the Saturday night dinner and have not let Margo know then please do so as soon as possible so that she can add you to the reservation. If you do not have her contact info then you can contact me and I will make sure she receives it.

Uncle Milton has received another GOOD doctor’s report and is working towards visiting with everybody. You are still in our prayers Uncle Milton.

In other news, it looks like Mark and Sydney may be able to join us after all.

Room Reservations: We currently have 20 rooms blocked off, including one handicapped. All rooms are on the ground level. The rooms are listed under Goddardd Reunion and will be held at our special rate  until July 24th.

Cost: $89 per night if booked by July 24th. This includes hot breakfast and a meeting room for Friday and Saturday. We do not know how many people will attend so the 20 rooms are on a First Come, First Serve Basis. To make your reservation call the hotel direct at the phone number above. • Bring your sprigs, rooted cuttings, smaller plants and especially the history behind your plants!!
• Potting soil, peat pots, Felco trimmers/tools, zip-lock bags, cards and makers to identify plants/donors/origin will all be provided courtesy of Mindy & Robbie

Saturday Golf Game (Lead: Walter)

• Contact Walter if you are interested. We will be playing at the same course, Dead Horse Lake, as we did five years ago. Cost will be $40 per person which includes the cart. Rental clubs are available but we must make arrangements prior to arrival. We have tee times scheduled from 7:56 thru 8:23. To this point, I have only heard from Eric Witcher, Bob Johnson, Brian Mitchell, Bryan Fuller and Steve France.

Walter has been asked to do a family tree from his genealogy program. If anyone else has this information in an easy to print format, please contact Walter.

Many thanks to all who are helping with the reunion. I know everyone is busy but if you can help, please contact someone listed above and lend a hand. We are all trying to make it a nice weekend while being mindful of costs.

On a final note, we are happy to hear that Uncle Milton is back at home and feeling better. Thanks for the updates Jamie. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family during this time of recovery.
